The Cubans

Back in 1995, when I was PR Director for a record label in the UK, we recorded two CDs with a cuban family - La Familia Valera Miranda. The second record we made in the UK, near where I live, at a place called Kinnersley Castle. I took this shot of Enrique Valera (playing cuatro - a Cuban variety of guitar) and his uncle, Radames (in the background). It just goes to show that when you take the time to hang around and make friends with your subjects, they end up at ease with you and just forget you and the camera are there.
